• Wednesday Form - Rest Up!

Incorporating rest days into your workout routine is as important as pushing yourself on the days you work out.  Exercise, especially what we do at CF, is very stressful on your body, and your body requires time to recover and rebuild.  Without rest, you might be overtraining and setting yourself up for a lengthy downtime when your body finally forces you to take a holiday.  The constant variation in CF workouts helps prevent overuse of any single muscle group (though sometimes it doesn’t feel that way!).  Most CFers also cross train by running / biking / swimming / doing yard work - basically anything that keeps the body moving.  Find the work / recover / rest schedule that works for you in order to stay healthy and perform your best!

Especially in the heat! Hydrate before and after class.

Such a good point and easier said than done! For many of us CF is a bit of an addiction and we would do it everyday if our schedules allowed (thankfully there’s always Hero Week!), so the reminder to take some down time might take some effort, but is advice worth following :)

Agreed. Experiencing the dreaded downtime now b/c I didn’t rest (or scale) when I should have. It’s so easy to talk myself into each workout - and once there, it’s easy to get caught up in the momentum and do more than you know you should. Heed the little voice in your head!!!
