We have a winner.

The blow-out Thursday 930am crew?

Well, yeah, they’re winners in our book.

But…we have a CF Essay Incentive Winner.

Rachel K! Congratulations! And thanks to everyone who participated! Your testimonials and the time and care taken to write your ideas are greatly appreciated

Some excerpts from her essay:
“I can’t say for sure what drove me to go back to class again – mostly a sense that I survived the first time, so surely I could survive again?  But it might have been more – maybe I proved to myself that I could do it.  I didn’t have to be the best at it – but I could do it.”

“Ultimately, CF gets into your blood enough that you can’t stop going (although I still have that sense of dread when I pull in and think I could be over at Friendly’s).  It’s amazing that when you walk through that door there are a huge bunch of people that respect what you do, respect the level that you are at and respect you enough to want you to do well.  I don’t think that sense of community and support can really be replicated in any other gym or fitness facility around.”

Now that’s the CF Spirit!

I so agree with everything you write!! As torturous as a workout can be, you just cannot stay away for long!! It’s all about the people, the best in Berks!! (is there a category for that?! CF would totally win!

Wholeheartedly agree! CF is like an ongoing ‘come as you are’ party sans the curlers and pajamas.

Totally agree with everything you said, Rachel. A recent Cross Fit video w/ two PSU gals stated it really well.

It’s like being on a sports team as an adult. Hard to find the comaraderie and teamwork/spirit anywhere else in your adult life since playing on teams isn’t as common as when we were young. We all want everyone to succeed and thrive and that sentiment is very vocal at CF, which in turn, motivates people to return. It’s a positive, vicious cycle!!!
