Tuesday Attitude: Daytime

“In just two days, tomorrow will be yesterday.”

“Don’t count the days- make the days count.”

“Every day you spend drifting away from your goals is a waste not only of that day, but also of the additional day it takes to regain lost ground.” -R. Marston

And the ever popular:

“Someday is not a day of the week.”

Interesting post that provoked this thought that not many folks understand. From a Universal perspective time stands alone with the exception of entropy, these two are linked since the birth 13.7 billion years ago of our current Universe. All of physics underlies time, above all else lies the arrow of time and it points in only one direction. As time passes so does entropy increase. The papers you have stacked so neatly on your desk will dissolve to disorder over time. This is an example of the link between time and entropy…my point? One of the reasons, I believe, that it gets more diffcult to start working towards goals is not just the passage of time, but as time passes so does the complexity of our lives as entropy rears its ugly head and creates more disorder around us…just another reason to start NOW!! We can “see” the past but only imagine the future…What do you imagine for your future? Make your life happen! Change is coming…

Love it Johnny! Of course my question has always been, “What came before our current universe?” We view time as linear but, using some models of the universe it is circular. We are simply an infinitely small part of that circle. Anyway to the point, we are only beginning to understand time as humans, but even so, we can help slow the entropy of our own live and body by making a change for the better. So what did you do today?

Where the hell’s Steven Hawking when I need him???
Way over my head JJ….if it doesn’t involve squats, it’s out of my league…

Holy crap I logged on at 6:22A and read Johnny’s post. Two cups of coffee is not enough to get my brain grasping entropy. You always get me thinking JJ, but not this early in the AM.

Just to clarify, hopefully anyway…one of the current theories about our Universe is that it was created (big bang) from a state of stasis, time did not pass as we perceive it and entropy did not exist. Quantum Physics is based on “probabilities” that this or that might happen at any given moment. The theory is that our Universe was born form this fact. Essentially there exists a “center” where time and entropy are negligible, at a given moment (over periods of billions of years) this center gives birth to a Universe, hence the theory of multi-verses, and the arrow of time as we know it starts ticking, and entropy or disorder begins in that Universe. From a state of time-zero and a very ordered beginning that Universe evolves until the entropy or disorder reaches its maximum at which time, no one is quite sure what happens. One it could turn into an icy graveyard or it could contract and give birth to another Universe. This is the circle Adam alluded too…create and destroy may very well just be an endless cycle on a scale that we cannot begin to grasp at this stage of our evolution…and there may very well be massive expanding Universes’ just like ours going through the same endless cycle…
