Tuesday Attitude: Acceptance

“It’s only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth – and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up, we will then begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it was the only one we had.” E. Kubler-Ross

(Kubler-Ross as you may know is famous for the 5-stages of dying/grieving…Denial, Anger, Bargaining, Depression, Acceptance)

MD, as always another great topic! Thanks for putting these topics out there to get the mind and Spirit to open dialogue…

When we live life fearing death, we don’t really live; we live within constraints that are constructs of our own minds that limit possibilities. Letting go of fears is a difficult thing for many people, the first step is to accept that they exist and then be committed to letting them go. By turning into the wind and facing the storms of existence we define our own limits and by trusting in the voice we all have inside then do we truly rise above our preconceived limitations…no one is perfect at this and it takes effort to constantly reinforce ourselves against the fears that try to limit our growth. I think sometimes it’s the ego throwing a temper tantrum, because it does not like to be stretched or challenged, it likes comfort and security…just don’t go there…JJ

“In life, many thoughts are born in the course of a moment, an hour, a day. Some are dreams, some visions. Often, we are unable to distinguish between them. To some, they are the same; however, not all dreams are visions. Much energy is lost in fanciful dreams that never bear fruit. But visions are messages from the Great Spirit, each for a different purpose in life. Consequently, one person’s vision may not be that of another. To have a vision, one must be prepared to receive it, and when it comes, to accept it. Thus when these inner urges become reality, only then can visions be fulfilled. The spiritual side of life knows everyone’s heart and who to trust. How could a vision ever be given to someone to harbor if that person could not be trusted to carry it out. The message is simple: commitment precedes vision.”
