Thursday Updates: Hero Week Aug 6-12

1) Hero Week Aug 6-12. Each day, every class will run the Hero workout.

2) Saturday Aug. 11, 1030am. Berks K9 Demonstration! Stay after the workout or bring family (pass the word on to friends too). Everyone invited. Please check CF blog and FB page for confirmation later during Hero Week. Donations accepted for the Friends of Berks County K9.

3) Sunday Aug. 12: After the HW Finale…Warrior Breakfast. Basics provided. Please bring a dish, snack to share. Stay after to hang out!

4) Please visit the HW Past page and read the comments about what HW means here at CF. Also, visit the Honor Roll page to see the dogs/handlers to who we pay tribute. On that page, you can also check out the daily WODs (unless you like to be surprised).

5) The basics to know about HW:
-Do something special.
-Don’t get rhabdo.
-Do expect to share. There will be big classes. The CF mantra “group before self” is even more meaningful during HW.
-Don’t tear hands early in the week.
-Do scale/modify.
-Don’t mention being sore, achy on Wednesday (b/c there’s always Thursday).
-Do show up to workout with awesome people and see some inspired performances!

6) Kids classes extended to Aug 6, 8, 10 (MWF) 11-1145a.

**Pags was preparing this vid to highlight the dogs.

There are a few other “items” worth remembering about Hero Week and folks should take note. This is meant as a way of having fun with our language and is not intended to offend or is it directed at any individual(s). But in the Spirit of the week I believe these are notes worth taking heed too…

    1. Reverence: 1. A feeling of profound awe and respect. 2. An act of showing respect.

    2. Suffer: to undergo or feel pain or distress and enjoy it!!!!!!

    3. Humble: An admiral quality that NOT many people possess. It means that a person may have accomplished much, or be much, but does not feel it is necessary to advertise or brag about it…

    4. Paying Attention: taking heed: giving close and thoughtful attention; “heedful of the warnings.”

    5. When you walk thru the door having your “Sh!t Wired Tight”…the highest state of organization and readiness…

    6. Don’t be a F$%ktard…a person of unbelievable, inexcusable and indescribable stupidity. (stupidity being defined as: “knowing how and doing it wrong anyway”)

    7. It is okay to be this: “BADASS”…IF IT MEANS ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
    a. You puke after or during a HERO WOD and do not get RHABDO!!!
    b. You get clocked by a policeman with a radar gun on your bicycle in a 35mph zone and as you go by he gives you a “thumbs-up”
    c. You carefully and with full faculties carry Santa Clause while running up Friendly’s Hill with no regard for your own welfare and with the singleness of purpose of protecting his integrity at the risk of your own life!!

From the Underground roaming Bunker located never far from the Phreaks that inhabit the strange and exotic land of sandbags, boxes, ammo cans, bumper-plates, and skinless palms…Here’s hoping you all have a successful and Pukey Hero Week…!! 😉
