Thursday Updates

Exciting January news, coming up FAST!!  Corps Fitness is hosting a CrossFit-style challenge on January 24th.  The “All Out In Berks” challenge will be a 2-person team competition (male / female / co-ed) testing your all-around fitness via four separate segments of the competition: Strength, CrossFit, Corps Fitness, and Endurance.  This event is geared towards friendly competition and is open to all abilities.  The most exciting part of the challenge is that we are welcoming competitors from other gyms to come join in the fun!  If you have a friend who goes to a different CrossFit gym (or any other gym), invite him / her out and see how you measure up!  **movements will be reviewed during the challenge, but the event is not intended to be instructional.  If you plan to compete, you should already be familiar with the movements listed on the challenge site: Clean & Jerk, Snatch, Thruster, Pullups, Overhead Kettlebell swings, Wallball, Burpees, Overhead Walking Lunges, Bear Crawls, Crab Walks.**

We are only 17 days away from the competition, and there are only 2 more days to guarantee a competition shirt with your registration, so get on it!!  Check out more about the challenge at this link or from the Corps Fitness homepage, or any of the other links that are all over the website / blog (–> –> –>) and sign up today!!

Bring a Friend week is continuing through the 13th.  We’ve already seen several new faces, and look forward to meeting many more!  Share what you love about CF with your friends this week.  As many friends as you want, as many visits as you want – all free workouts!!

**Schedule reminders:
Thursday Basic / Intermediate classes will be 5:45 – 6:45 beginning tonight!  This is a trial in January and will be re-evaluated at the end of the month for feasibility.
– Beginning today, John Pacharis is teaching a Tuesday / Thursday noon Spin / Krank class.  Join in the fun and get out of the cold weather while still keeping up with your cycling!
On January 24th, CF will not hold normally scheduled classes (7 and 8:30 AM) because we’re hosting the All Out in Berks challenge.  If you’re participating, good luck!  If you’re not participating, come on out and cheer on your fellow CFers!  Normal schedule will resume on January 25th.

Weekend instructors:
Thursday Basic / Int: Gretchen
FNL: Ed
Sunday 8 and 9:30: John
