Sitting… the new smoking?

photo 3(6) photo 1(8)

Most of us have jobs that require us to sit for LONG portions of the day.  It’s ok, right?  Because you work out most days every week…  A new study suggests that may not be enough!  Read the Runner’s World Article here.  If you have a sedentary job, make sure to take frequent breaks from sitting: to the water fountain, to the printer, or just do a lap around the building!  “Active couch potatoes” might be the new “skinny fat people.”

Thanks for a great class yesterday, Gretchen! You packed it to the brim with agility, strength and plyometric goodness!!

Good advice! I don’t like sitting all day. A couple of us at work take laps around the building or try to walk at lunch, which helps a little. But I really wish I had a treadmill desk 🙂

JD – what a fun group and great energy! That makes the class what it is 🙂 Though the music doesn’t hurt!
