Monday: Did you know? Pull-up record…

Read all about it!  On Thursday September 27th, Navy SEAL David Goggins attempted to break the world record of 4,020 pull-ups in 24 hours.  Read about his results and what challenges he encountered (both expected and unexpected).  Do you think this was a good idea?

Good cause? Yes. Good idea? I guess it depends on the individual. Not something I would try. Rhabdo and all sorts of other bad things could happen and did happen. Lesson, never let those in charge of “entertainment” install pull-ups bars or any other props needed for a physical activity…hopefully they can fix his wrist, that is a bad place to get an injury like that…sounds gruesome and painful!!

He should have done it on the CF smoke house. We know that thing has more than 5K pull ups on it and still does not move!

Noble cause, poor execution. Anyone ever try doing pullups outside of CF at a playground or even Grings Mill? It is seriously different and hard. How could he not recognize this asap? Given the current sorry state of the USA’s litigious society, he should sue the Today show and donate the money to his noteworthy cause….mission accomplished.

Agree with what all have said. I kinda cringed when I thought of some miscellaneous crew building this pull-up bar for him. Of all the variables to control for, that would be a biggie! I heard David Blaine is prepping for his next big NYC stunt. I hope this crew wasn’t hired for construction!

I agree – I was surprised to hear that he didn’t have good equipment for such a huge challenge. Hopefully that wrist heals quickly!

David Blaine… Wearing a Faraday cage is kinda cheating don’t you think?

Truth be told, this guy kinda pisses me off. I’m all for challenges, and setting the bar high, and I”m all for doing things to raise awareness and funds for good causes, but really? His interview regarding doing ultra marathons put a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. Don’t really care for this guy and what he has to say and what his accomplishments are or are not. Just saying…
