Monday “Did you know…” Make it a combo

It’s not what you take in, but what your body can extract from what you take in. Food combinations or food synergy is important to consider.
“According to dietitian Joanne Larsen, dark green, leafy vegetables like spinach and kale are best eaten in combination with another veggie high in Vitamin C like beets, because “iron absorption in your intestines is improved by Vitamin C.”” Read more at this very good review here.

BTW, I have no idea if spinach & white beans creates a proper synergy, it was just my breakfast.

    MD- according to the 4HB that’s a great breakfast, just as long as you had some protein (eggs, egg whites, etc.) with it. glad to see people interested in trying it. its fun to experiment different ways of eating/working out, keeps it interesting!

    Nice! My breakfast almost made my family puke. Bowl of spinach, lentils, saurkraut and 2 eggs. mmm. Loved it.

    Great article. Thanks for the help. I had a great juice drink yesterday. 4 oranges, 4 stalks of celery, 1 inch of fresh ginger and 1 small sweet potato! Now that was yummy!
