Monday: Did You Know? …Cold season

With cold and flu season upon us, it is important to think about whether or not to work out when feeling sick.  The general guidelines are if the symptoms are above the neck, you are good to go (as long as you feel up to it).  If symptoms are below the neck, it’s better to rest up and stay hydrated.  Working out during a cold can sometimes make you feel better by getting the blood pumping and clearing out the lungs.  If you aren’t feeling up to the intensity of a CF workout, bundle up and get outside for some fresh air!  And if you do exercise while under the weather, please wash up and be considerate of others who may not necessarily want to share your lung butter…  And remember, an ounce of prevention!  Eat healthy foods and get enough rest during this time of year to stave off unwanted illness!

Did “Jackie” workout today at Wine Valley Crossfit…great little box. Particularly enjoyed meeting a one-armed CFer who could double-unders like nobody’s business. Of course the way they hydrate afterwards with a 2003 Cabernet can’t be beat!
