Monday “Did you know…?” Back to normal

Now, back to HW review.

What a week! The most differently diverse yet. Diverse groups of people stopping by all week. And the most diverse group completing all 7 (30 cfers!)! Most diverse and engaging sequence of workouts yet (a sad day to end the week with only 148 pullups). Different prize…sweat towels (no offense).  Different Bldg 7 (HW with bay doors–sweet). Different kind of recognition…Hero Dogs. The only thing that wasn’t different…the same, unwavering commitment of CFers. True you have to be a bit off to enjoy that for 7 days…you are all rock solid, and affirm what we all know…the best people around!

One of the things I love about CF is the dynamic diversity! On some level, you know what you’re going to get when you walk in the door. But there are always the unknowns – who, what, how, etc. Every class is the perfect class, and every group is the perfect group – somehow it always works out b/c everyone rises to the occasion. Hero Week exemplifies this to a tee!

Thanks MD for putting us through our paces to honor and remember some very special fallen soldiers! I truly appreciate the method to your madness! xo

Thank you Matt for your creativity, intensity and for keeping it real. When approaching Hero Week it’s all I think about and when in it the same. Great thing to be a part of.

Loved it all. Big performances…if you were going down, you were going down swinging!

Hey, someone left this on the smokehouse.

I was wondering where that went.

Agreed with all said above! But, now I have this sense of letdown….kinda like the day after your wedding. Wishing it wasn’t over…wishing for more…..Anyone else??

    And…that picture is totally gross….

Yes, today is the day for the post-Hero Week blues. Physically not wanting to workout but missing comraderie, looking forward to the challenge and dreading it at the same time.

Matt, thanks again for all the work you put into designing and coordinating the week. It seems to be a labor of love.

Ewww… LMAO that IS gross, but shows you no matter what you tell us to do and how impossible we think it is to finish, somehow our group accomplishes the task! Great week and glad to see the number of phreaks to show up day after day……hope to continue to see that in our “normal” classes.

thanks MD for your hard work and dedication to make the week memorable and special, also the continuous encouragement and reminder why we do it to get us through the week!

Oh that explains the Mohel walking around looking like he lost something.

Now I agree that picture is gross.

Another amazing Hero Week that test the limits of your body and mind. Matt D and Chris do a great job prepping the troops and setting the right tone to pay tribute to so many great heroes.

    Thanks!

Can’t wait to do it again! Yeah Yeah!

Amazing Hero Week. Thank you Matt and Chris. Love the stripe apron! Great job everyone. Thank you for the encouragement, it helps a lot to keep me going. My family calls me odd because I look forward to going to CF class! My only comment is what’s not to like! Aches and pain, not able to straightened my arms and walk like a homosapien ! A little let down but looking forward to the next Hero Week. Great to pay tribute to many great heroes and to their family. THANK YOU. WHOOP, WHOOP to all who participated and to Matt and Chris for everything!

There are always new insights to take from Hero Week, this time around was no exception:
    1. The women!! Might be the first time the women outnumbered the men and did they bring it or what??? I witnessed some amazing performances from all you gals, very impressive and well done.
    2. No one gets paid for this. And yet people come and put themselves through hell, let’s be honest who signs up for this sh!t??? Hah!
    3. The heart and soul! You all are the heart and soul, the best when it comes to self-sacrifice for a purpose greater than the self, putting the we before the I.
    4. Dogs can bring people together in a way that is transformative! I do not think anyone will look at our canine relatives in the same light ever again if the attended any of the wods during Hero Week!!!!
    5. Lastly, what better way to honor and remember PAGS than by having Jynx, Alecia and Savanah their on Sunday, very hard to hold back my emotions, I had to take several moments alone that day to keep it together.

My heart is more compassionate because of all of you!

Matt, another outstanding week, I know you put your heart and soul into this and never look for accolades, you are one of the humblest people I know. But you give sooo much and we are all thankful for that. Chris, thanks for giving us a place to do this and for instilling in our hearts the “we” and not the “I”!!!
I know it may sound hokey, but I love you guys! You both give sooo much!!

I am proud to know all of you and would go through hell to defend and protect what has been built!

It’s all been said but, what a week! My mind is very sad it’s over and my body is glad it’s over. Everyone this week (and every week at CF) amazed me, you are truly the best.
