A seed on a window sill is still a tree but will not grow, but a seed in the soil will become a tree. Growth only happens in the right environment” – Myles Munroe

Corps fitness is that environment for everyone to grow. The family atmosphere, the culture and the love in this place makes it a great work environment. Love it here, the place where purpose is fulfilled

Ben received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training through King’s College and completed his Master’s of Education at Alvernia University. He has also completed the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is currently nearing completion of a second Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Alvernia University (expected graduation December, 2018). This has allowed Ben to function as both Athletic Trainer and Strength Coach for the past 15 years – Ben has experience in treating athletic and orthopedic injuries, developing injury reduction and sport-specific programs, running youth functional training/speed and agility clinics, developing personalized health and wellness programs. His experiences have given him the opportunity to work with all age groups and fitness levels – from beginners through elite/pro athletes. Ben’s personal fitness view: getting in shape can be unpleasant and challenging, but with consistency, hard work and the right direction, the results and benefits can be greater than you have ever expected. You can enjoy becoming more physically fit, with a routine that’s client-centered and no matter your current performance level – we can always find strengths to build upon. Ben truly practices what he preaches and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two young boys, mountain biking and growing his knowledge base through ongoing continuing education. His current educational endeavors in Occupational Therapy have allowed him to expand his training into meeting the needs of special client populations. He has had the opportunity to complete fieldwork internship opportunities with persons having various disabilities and has learned ways to adapt fitness routines to improve the physical and mental capacities of these individuals and ultimately improve their quality of life. All of his routines are evidence-based, safe and goal-oriented.
Amanda came to one of the intro classes at Corps Fitness in October of 2016. After months of trying to achieve fitness goals on my own, she returned on June 10, 2017 for her first official Corps Fitness Class. Owner, Chris Kaag, made a bet with her and gave her until the end of June to attend a class. By July 4 that year, she was hooked. She started with the Corps Fitness program but soon developed a love for CrossFit as well. "I tell everyone that asks me about CFCFB that I would recommend this to anyone, no matter age or current physical ability. I was inspired by a current member that is in her 70’s. CFCFB is not a gym, it is a community of like-minded people that genuinely look out for each other." Currently Amanda attends the early morning classes, every morning. In August 2018, Amanda earned her Group Fitness Certificate and began teaching weekday classes in addition to the Open Gym on the weekends.
