As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a degree in Athletic Training, Ben specializes in developing personalized exercise solutions tailored to the individual client.

Ben’s goal is to help you to avoid all the misinformation that plagues the fitness world, and to provide a service that helps you reach your fitness goals without trial-and-error or wasted time and effort. All of Ben’s routines are based on your previous fitness history. He will design and implement a workout program specifically for your needs – whether your goal is to lose weight, learn how to become more physical fit, train for your favorite activity or to reduce your risk of injury.

Ben received his undergraduate degree in Athletic Training through King’s College and completed his Master’s of Education at Alvernia University. He has also completed the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist exam through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is currently nearing completion of a second Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at Alvernia University (expected graduation December, 2018). This has allowed Ben to function as both Athletic Trainer and Strength Coach for the past 15 years – Ben has experience in treating athletic and orthopedic injuries, developing injury reduction and sport-specific programs, running youth functional training/speed and agility clinics, developing personalized health and wellness programs. His experiences have given him the opportunity to work with all age groups and fitness levels – from beginners through elite/pro athletes.

Ben’s personal fitness view: getting in shape can be unpleasant and challenging, but with consistency, hard work and the right direction, the results and benefits can be greater than you have ever expected. You can enjoy becoming more physically fit, with a routine that’s client-centered and no matter your current performance level – we can always find strengths to build upon.

Ben truly practices what he preaches and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his two young boys, mountain biking and growing his knowledge base through ongoing continuing education. His current educational endeavors in Occupational Therapy have allowed him to expand his training into meeting the needs of special client populations. He has had the opportunity to complete fieldwork internship opportunities with persons having various disabilities and has learned ways to adapt fitness routines to improve the physical and mental capacities of these individuals and ultimately improve their quality of life. All of his routines are evidence-based, safe and goal-oriented.

Meet Other Trainers

Kevin first joined Corps Fitness CrossFit Berks on a punch card in 2008. Following some injuries he took some time away from the gym before finding his way back home in 2016. He grew up in Freehold, NJ before moving to Philadelphia to earn a bachelor degree from Philadelphia University. He moved to Reading when he and his family purchased Classic Harley-Davidson in 1998. Corps Fitness CrossFit Berks has become the Kodz family gym of choice as Kevin, his wife, Amanda and their 12 year old daughter, Maria are all members.

      Joe came to an intro class in August of 2017 looking for something new to challenge him. After doing at home workout programs, running numerous trail races, 5K’s, 10K’s, and Half Marathons, culminating in the Vernon Spartan Beast, he knew after 2 weeks, that Corps Fitness would never be the same workout twice and would be the place that could take him to the next level of fitness. Being the manager of Corps Fitness CrossFit Berks means that I have to set that example and get in fantastic shape and stay there. I’m excited to be helping people crush their goals and then set new, higher, loftier goals – goals that they may not have ever thought they could possibly reach.
