HotShot 19

Thank you to all who came out this weekend for class and for the HotShot ’19’ Challenge.  And thank you to Matt D for putting together and hosting the HotShots ’19’ Challenge this weekend, and for the following comments and video:

This was such an impressive workout. CFers always step-up to honor through suffering, whether regular class, birthdays, holidays, Hero Week, and yes, tragedies. People took the time to read the board, learn the stories, and assure the families and loved ones that the Hotshots’ story will be remembered. Everyone – when lungs were burning and legs were heavy – looked to the board for inspiration and gave a little bit more. The suffering has just become CFers’ way of sending prayers and positive energy to grieving families, and letting them know the service and contributions of their heroic loved ones will be remembered.

Here’s another link to a remembrance

Matt D. thank you for putting together the Hotshot challenge! There’s nothing like the anticipation of the suffering in honor of the purpose. I appreciate having the opportunity to honor any hero who sacrificed for the whole.

In tragedy, you sometimes feel helpless…no words, no expressions, no acts can take away the pain and the grief…however, there is always a way to remember and to honor! Thankful to have these opportunities to remember and "express" my gratitude to those firefighters and ALL those who put themselves on the line to protect and serve. Thanks Matt and Chris!

Thanks, MD, for creating this workout and giving us a chance to honor these courageous men. The complete terror they must have felt in their last minutes on earth is just out of bounds. Offering my own suffering as a tribute to their bravery is the least I could do….

Glad to see some old & new faces taking part in Matt’s special brand of madness!

Sorry to have missed this one but here is a quote to all you CF’ers. Amazing.

Struggling and suffering are the essence of a life worth living. If you’re not pushing yourself beyond the comfort zone, if you’re not demanding more from yourself – expanding and learning as you go – you’re choosing a numb existence. You’re denying yourself an extraordinary trip.
