Friday Food for Thought …what if?
Some of you may have seen this picture around, but it was too good not to share. According to Livestrong, 1 minute of burpees will burn approximately 10 calories for someone in the 155-lb weight range, and for argument’s sake let’s assume this 155-lb person will complete an average of 10 burpees per minute.
A Grande Starbucks Peppermint Mocha contains 330 calories. Without getting into the carbs/fat/empty calories discussion, that’s 33 minutes of burpees just for one drink! The highest-calorie 16-oz drink on their nutrition information site is the Double Chocolatey Chip Frappuccino Blended Creme… Sounds tasty, but 500 calories!? Forget the 7-minute burpee challenge; imagine showing up to a WOD where the board simply read “50 minutes of burpees”!!
