Day 2: Bingo & Neff
Cpl Mason Neff and his dog Bingo were in an area reputed to have a high concentration of improvised explosive devices when Bingo began acting agitated. Neff’s fellow Marines said it appeared that Bingo was trying to prevent his handler from approaching an IED when the device detonated, killing Bingo and critically injuring the soldier.
Mason’s family says the dog saved his life. (info from lifewithdogs.tv)
“It really does take one moment, one moment of brilliance, for somebody to do something individually spectacular”
– Abby Wambach, U.S. Woman’s Soccer
This seems to sum it up for me this week. Olympic Games. Soldiers and Canine Companions. Kyle Pagerly.
Heroic. Brilliant. Spectacular.
Tragic
We Get To
particularly great job getting that huge crowd fired up tonight M.D.! great job!
Thanks alot! It’s easy with motivated mad-dogs like you all. (interesting when it’s billed as “it made me feel like a shit-sandwich, you should try it” gets that many people to show up! Shoulda known with this crew!)
wondering what the workout would be if a Hero Dog was a Shitzu?
