Got the Nerve is a sprint triathlon, with a 500 yd. swim in Mt. Gretna Lake, a 16 mi. bike ride on country roads through both Lebanon & Lancaster Counties and a 5K run on a nearby FLAT Rails-to-Trails path.

Registration is closed at 1,000 race participants. In past years, over 2,500 fans have attended to support the event.

Got the Nerve Triathlon has inspired thousands of individuals of all abilities to challenge themselves in a motivating and encouraging race environment.

WHO?

GTN is a race for everyone! Participants include beginners and veteran triathletes, disabled athletes, and families young and old. Uniting all of these individuals is a common goal to push hard and discover what they are capable of.

WHEN?

Race day is Saturday, May 20 2017.

We are raising funds to support the mission of the IM ABLE Foundation while encouraging and challenging beginner and veteran athletes, disabled athletes, families and teams to compete together in a motivating and encouraging race environment.

The Reading Fightin Phils have announced there will be an In-Game Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K presented by Penn State Health St. Joseph, Corps Fitness, IM ABLE Foundation and A Running Start on Saturday, April 15th. Teams of four can compete in their choice of a marathon, half marathon or 10K run, and run the race during the Fightins game!

The race is a relay style format; each member of the team will run one lap at a time. The course will begin inside the stadium where participants’ friends and family can watch them compete, as the course circles the stadium including high on the center-field hill for a unique view of the game while the participants run, and through the Deck Picnic Area in left field where friends and family can be seated in close proximity to the runners. When the runner returns to the start/finish area, they will “tag” one of their teammates, who will complete the next lap around the ballpark. This team relay format will continue until the team has completed their chosen race length. The course is approximately a half mile each lap.

Here is a breakdown of how each marathon will take place:

Team Marathon:

12:15 p.m.: Marathon Starts (Check in 11:15 am)

Starts with one team runner, on the field at 12:15.

The other three runners are waiting in the team rest area.

Team Half Marathon:

1:15 p.m.: Half Marathon Starts (Check in 12:15 pm)

Starts with one team runner, on the field at 1:15.

The other three runners are waiting in the team rest area.

Team 10K:

1:45 p.m.: 10K Starts (Check in 12:145 pm)

Starts with one team runner, on the field at 1:45.

Other three runners are waiting in the “pits” area (left field batting tunnel).

The other three runners are waiting in the team rest area.

All team packages will include the following for the four runners: four runner bibs, four t-shirts, four all-you-can-eat deck buffet passes, four beer vouchers (or beverage vouchers if under 21) and Fightins game tickets for each participant. The team will receive 16 additional tickets for family and friends to attend the game, who can cheer them on as they run by during the game.

There are multiple packages available. Those packages are:

THE ULTIMATE PACKAGE:

Full Marathon with 20 Deck Picnic Tickets – $500 ($125/runner)

Half Marathon with 20 Deck Picnic Tickets – $460 ($115/runner)

10K with 20 Deck Picnic Tickets – $440 ($110/runner)

All the above “Ultimate Packages” include Reserved Deck Picnic seating for the participant’s guests, with all-you-can-eat buffet, admission to the Fightins game, and also include sponsor recognition in the pre-game and post-game via stadium PA. Recognize a sponsor, or just announce your fun team name as the “sponsor”.

THE BASE PACKAGE:

Full Marathon with 20 General Admission Tickets – $240 ($60/runner)

Half Marathon with 20 General Admission Tickets – $200 ($50/runner)

10K with 20 General Admission Tickets – $180 ($45/runner)

With both the Ultimate Package and the Base Package, additional Deck Picnic Tickets, and/or general admission tickets can also be purchased AT A SPECIAL DISCOUNTED RATE if there are more than 16 friends and family that want to be there to cheer their participant’s team on. Additional Deck Picnic Tickets are available at a discounted rate of $18 (Includes game ticket, all-you-can-eat buffet, and reserved picnic table seating with your group). Additional general admission tickets are available at a discounted rate of $5.

The marathon will begin at 12:15 p.m. while the half marathon will begin at 1:15 p.m. and the 10K will begin at 1:45 p.m. The Fightins game that day is at 2:05 p.m., so all the races will finish during the Fightins game, allowing the participants to enjoy the remainder of the game with their friends and family, who cheered them on during the race.

There will be a Post-Game Award Ceremony on the field immediately following the Fightins game to honor the top finishers in each race category. There will be awards for:

· First, second and third place teams overall in the marathon, half marathon, and 10K (12 teams honored)

· First Place Team: “All-Female” Teams in the marathon, half marathon, and 10K (3 teams honored)

· First Place Team: “15 years of age and under” Teams in the marathon, half marathon, and 10K (3 teams honored)

· First Place Team: “Co-Ed” Teams (at least 1 Female) in the marathon, half marathon, and 10K (3 teams honored)

That’s a total of 21 teams honored on the field after the Fightins Game!

The Fightin Phils will be playing the Richmond Flying Squirrels at 2:05 p.m. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. There will be an appearance by the Phillie Phanatic and a Kids Club Team Autograph Session.

CFers have proven themselves to be competitors in all types of events.  We train hard, we compete hard.  But training is not the only component….proper fueling and nutrition is too!

We are excited to announce a Sports and Performance Nutrition seminar led by Matt Weik of Weik Fitness on Wed. 4/5 at 6:45PM.  Available to CF members($20)  as well as non-members($25).  We are requiring a minimum of 10 pre-paid sign ups to hold this seminar.  Additionally, if you have any specific questions you’d like to have addressed as a part of this seminar, you have the opportunity to submit your question in advance to insure that it is covered.

Snow in March, just a few days before spring’s arrival, gotcha down? We have the perfect thing to help get your mind off of it….A CHALLENGE!
This is a challenge ANYONE can do. It’s an Attendance Challenge.
Rules are on the flyer attached, but key points to know:
1. Runs the entire month of April.
2. Must Pre-enter the challenge before the start of the month by signing up at front desk.
It’s a very simple challenge, and will result in a huge reward for a lucky challenger!

Additionally, there also will be NO Strength class for Runners tonight at 6:30PM.

NEW CLASS!!!
Coming next Tuesday, March 7th from 8:30AM – 9:30AM.
We will be offering a CrossFit/Corps Fitness Hybrid class. And it’s just like it sounds….a little bit of both offerings in the mix.
As always, as long as attendance warrants it, this will class will stay on the schedule! See you next week!

17.1 was announced last night, and the Open is underway.
*Scorecards will be housed in a folder behind front desk.

*You may utilize the gym during our regular Open Gym hours to do your workout. Scores for each workout must be in by Monday 8PM NO EXCEPTIONS!
*It is our understanding from the CrossFit Rule Book that a certified judge (one having taken the Judges Course and passed) need only be used for “Regional-caliber athletes”. So, plan your judge selection accordingly. Judges that ARE certified are:
